Ticketing platform TICKETsrv win time-slot booking contract for Covid testing at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport

TICKETsrv has won a contract facilitating variable time slot bookings for Covid testing at the John Lennon Airport in Liverpool.

Passengers flying in and out of Liverpool Airport will now have the option of paying for a Covid test before travelling or on return, using TICKETsrv’s booking system to secure their testing time slot.

The Airport teamed up with locally based Test Assurance Group (TAG) to offer passengers needing a ‘Fit to Fly’ or ‘Test to Release’ certificate the opportunity to book a COVID-19 PCR test at their new facility based at the airport.

TAG developed the technology platform that utilises TICKETsrv’s calendar booking system to give those passengers who are able to travel overseas confidence that they meet the necessary health requirements of the country they are flying to, or cut down the time required to self-isolate on entering the country.

TICKETsrv’s time slot technology allows customers to select a time slot for arrival, helping venues to effectively plan queue management. It ensures that the maximum number of visitors is not exceeded on-site at any one time, and customers can view remaining availability when booking. It also integrates seamlessly with TICKETsrv’s trusted entry scanners ensuring quick and secure admission. Customers simply add their tickets to the basket and select day of arrival on a calendar then choose time slot (at tailored intervals) – the customer’s name, chosen time and date, plus any other required information, will automatically be printed onto the ticket. Much more than simply a calendar booking system, the technology allows highly customisable and dynamic rules to be applied to the various time slot intervals, built by an in-house development team who are able to react quickly to the shifting landscape.

Lucy O’Shaughnessy, commercial director at the airport, said: “This is another important step along the road to recovery for the travel industry and we are delighted to be able to work with a local company to offer our passengers a convenient, hassle free service to help them get back to travelling overseas once more.”

Kate Wimpenny of TAG said: “I can’t compliment TICKETsrv’s service enough – always highly professional, staff know the product inside out and even when faced with an ever-changing set of rules and regulations they deal with the issues promptly and efficiently.”

Sales & Marketing Director of TICKETsrv, Sally-Ann Jay, said: “Within a challenging climate it has been vital to adapt and innovate, and the flexibility of our system has enabled us to evolve into new areas of business. We are pleased to welcome on board this worthy partner, driving forward a positive move towards the tourism and leisure industry finally re-opening.”
